A Volkswagen Bug is my absolute favorite vintage car, so I needed to have this one. While coloring I started singing 'Driving home for Christmas' from Chris Rhea. Slowly we're getting into the Christmas spirit...

MFT Superstar contest - card 3

Hi all,

This is my third and last card for the Superstar contest. 

For this card I wanted the sentiment to be the 'star' of the card. After inking the sentiment with black licorice ink, I also inked it with versafine and clear embossed it to give it a nice shine.

The card is stamped all in one layer (another Camp Create technique) with flowers of the Bold Blooms stamp set.

MFT Superstar contest - card 2

Hi all,

This is my second card for the Superstar contest. 

For this card I used one of the techniques from Camp Create, dry embossing.

First I die cut the border, then stamped the flower arrangement and dry embossed only the flowers and not the leaves.

Next step was to mask the flowers as well as the scalloped border so I could stamp the background with Versafine and gold emboss it. To give it a bit more contrast I also die cut the same blue border.

MFT Superstar contest - card 1

Hi all,

This is my first card for the Superstar contest. 

I wanted to create a card that look like those beautiful batik fabrics, so rich with gold threads in black fabric. I love that.
To achieve that all the little flowers and bugs were embossed in gold. For coloring I used pencils, it was not easy to find colors where you can color on black card stock. I let myself be inspired by one of the Camp Create challenges, where coloring was done on kraft paper.
Wings of the bees got some sparkle with a Wink of Stella glitter pen and finished it off with some gold pearls end crystals.

MFT Sketch challenge 296

Today's post is a card for the Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch:

For the card I used a retired stamp and die set, Terrific Ties. The patterns on the ties are made with gold embossing, it gives a very cool effect. I saw this in an old post of Melania, one of MFT's designers. Here's the card:

Today I want to show you the card I made with the Daffodil stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. It's all in one layer and a lot of masking happened. All is colored with Copics.

MFT Blueprints 29 - birthday card with sketch

While anxiously waiting for the new card kit to arrive, I've spend the weekend with making a few cards with earlier released card kits. For this card I used the Flashy Florals stamps and dies, together with Blueprints 29 dies and the Distressed Patterns stamps. Always easy to use one of the sketches from the Blueprints.

Camp Create Farewell Bonfire! - Single Layer Savvy

Yay, made it through all 16 camp create challenges! This last challenges is to create a card that only has one layer. Normally I always create cards with layering, so a big challenge for me. Anyhow I managed to create one, with some masking, using the flashy florals stamp set.
I really had so much fun doing all those challenges. It makes you think out of the box and get out your comport zone.

MFT Camp create day 5 - Shadow Stamping

Again a technique I know exists, but I never tried before. This third Camp Create week is the most creative for me, really fun to do.

MFT Camp create day 4 - Divine Dry Embossing

For this challenge I was inspired by a blog post from Jennifer McGuire on how to use this dots background die and used the dry embossing technique for a wedding card, together with the dies from the twice the wish card kit.

MFT Camp create day 3 - Remarkable Resist

My third card for Camp create already. This time I used the birthday candles and embossed them with white embossing powder. The inks used are Distress.  Another badge earned.

MFT Camp create day 2 - Awesome Ombre

I saw so many cards with ombre techniques and they are looking so beautiful, but never came to making one myself. Somehow I needed this push and create my very first ombre background on my entry for this challenge. So I guess I need to thank you MFT for pushing in learning new techniques!

Also means: second badge earned.

MFT Camp create day 1 - Monochromatic Magic

Yay, MFT is doing another camp create this week!!
The first challenge is to create a monochromatic project and I love monochromatic color schemes. So easy one to begin the week.

Camp create day 5 - Background Bonanza

I'm still in the celebration mood, waiting for the new card kit to arrive, so using the Make a Wish products again. 
For this challenge I used the beautiful blooms stamp set and created the background. 
I used the colors of the color challenge, so I can kill two birds in one stone :)

Earned the badge for day 4 with this one.

For this challenge I used the Spring tulips stamp set and created a bouquet of tulips.

Camp create day 3 - Inlaid Made Easy

Back again with a my entry for day 3 of camp create. This is an easy one LOL, I already have a card ready I can enter for this challenge.

Last weekend I was being creative with the Make a wish card kit from MFT and decided to use the glitter technique from the first camp create and created glittery flames. 

The red hearts in the flames are inlaid in the yellow part. I did this by die die-cutting the hears first and glitter them. Next step was die-cutting the flames around the hearts and glitter those separately. Once all the glittering was finished I laid the hearts back into the flames. The candles got shine too by adding a layer glossy accents on them .

So, badge number 2 is in the pocket.

Camp create day 2 - coloring on kraft

Yay, another week of camp create!

My entry now is for day 2, where we needed to create something with coloring.
Badge number 1 is in the pocket.

And here's my card. I colored the complete background with Copics. Because of the bright colors I kept the rest of the card simple.

MFT celebrates 10th birthday challenge

MFT celebrates its 10th birthday this month and because of that there's an extra challenge on their blog.

In this challenge you needed to include the number 10 on your project. 
I chose to do my version of 10 birthday candles on my card. I used only the large candles from the make a wish card kit and stamped them in different colors. All and all a very festive and colorful card.
